The Genesis Co-Op Model

Since each homeschool co-op has its own distinct flavor, we will try to briefly describe our model for you. We are a Christian-led, Christian-taught co-op whose leadership and teachers are all followers of Jesus Christ and believe in a literal 6-day creation (See Statement of Faith). However, we welcome homeschoolers of all faiths, as long as they recognize and respect our beliefs.

Genesis Homeschool Co-op is a ministry that seeks to support and encourage homeschool families by providing weekly enrichment classes and weekly support group meetings (child care provided), as well as periodic field trips and adult activities. Some of the enrichment classes are free and others are taught on a tuition basis. However, some teachers may be willing to barter for tuition. In addition, we also have a scholarship fund available upon request.

Each family’s responsibility includes a $50/yr family membership fee, as well as periodic “service-mom” duties. The “service-mom” duties may include, but are not limited to, morning set-up, afternoon close up, light cleaning, monitoring students not currently in classes, answering the Genesis phone, and other duties as necessary. Each mom not teaching a class is required to schedule themselves for several service time-slots per semester. The frequency of service is dependent upon the number of participating member families.
